Join us for the North Omaha Trail Cleanup!

We’re gathering the community to help clean up key areas near and along the North Omaha Trail. Come lend a hand as we distribute supplies, review volunteer safety, and hit the trail to make a difference.

Volunteers can choose to start from either Fabric Lab (24th & Ohio) or B&B Sports Academy (31st Ave & Sprague) to begin the clean-up. Supplies will be distributed at these locations by a designated team member. Volunteers will work toward the middle of the trail, where we will gather for lunch and a brief wrap-up meeting.

Event Description

The North Omaha Trail Clean-Up is meant to be a rewarding and fun experience for all involved; we do not expect any volunteers to do any hazardous or strenuous work. However, there are some safety rules everyone should follow to make this event enjoyable, safe, and worthwhile.

How It Works:

  1. Pick Your Starting Location → Choose to begin at Fabric Lab (24th & Ohio) or B&B Sports Academy (31st & Sprague).
  2. Get Your Supplies → A Spark team member will be stationed at both locations to provide gloves, trash pickers, and bags.
  3. Clean Along the Trail → Volunteers will work toward the middle of the trail.
  4. Meet for Lunch → At the end of the clean-up, everyone will gather for lunch and a short wrap-up meeting at the designated midpoint.

Supplies Provided:

  • Gloves
  • Trash Pickers
  • Trash Bags

Do be prepared to participate safely:

  • Wear closed toed shoes
  • Dress appropriately for the weather
  • Document what you clean-up
  • Stay with an adult if you are under 19

Do Not pick up hazardous items, this includes but is not limited to:

  • Guns or knives
  • Broken glass
  • Partially buried items
  • Closed or sealed buckets and plastic or metal drums
  • Medical waste (hazard bags, needles, etc.)
  • Dead animals
  • Anything that you feel unsafe or uncomfortable handling

If you encounter any of these items, take note of the location and report it to someone on the Spark team. Appropriate personnel may be able to collect these items safely. Never reach or crawl into crevices or brush under rocks or structures to retrieve debris. Always use a tool when necessary or if something is just out of arm's reach. Remember to not wander onto anyone's private property or dispose of any litter or items in their trash or recycling carts.
