Thrift Store Volunteer
Purpose: To assist thrift store management team in day-to-day activities in running retail thrift store, providing customers with needed merchandise, in support of the SSVP mission.
Essential Duties and Roles:
Organize and distribute merchandise for sale on the retail floor for display and pricing.
Respond to customers' needs at the receiving dock, assisting with lifting donated or purchased items (up to 30 pounds). Assist drivers as they unload donations.
Light dusting and sweeping. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the store.
Thrift Store Locations:
West Center Store - 12301 West Center Road, Westwood Plaza (Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday 12 to 5pm)
Downtown Store - 2101 Leavenworth St. (Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm)
Northwest Store - 5505 No. 90th, (Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 10-4pm)
Papillion - 807 Tara Plaza, (Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm)
Shifts: Vary by stores; preference for ongoing/sustained volunteer commitments, although one-time volunteers are also welcome.
Requirements: Good communication skills. Ability to stand, bend, lift, climb and carry up to 30 pounds. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. 13-16 year-old volunteers must have adult supervision. Must be respectful of workplace policies.
