Grounds keeping/Environmental Volunteer

Purpose: An outreach program of the Society's Holy Family Ministries, volunteers conduct general upkeep and maintenance of grounds including clean up, and also preparation and support of raised bed gardens, in order to provide vegetables and food for the community and a park-like atmosphere for our homeless neighbors to rest and enjoy.

Essential Duties and Roles Volunteers will conduct upkeep and maintenance of the Society's District Office grounds including clean up, preparation and ongoing support of the raised bed gardens. Roles would include raking, pulling weeds, cleaning up debris, sweeping, shoveling, bagging yard waste, etc.

Location: Society of St. Vincent de Paul Omaha's District Office, located at 1715 Izard.

Shifts Working hours are flexible. Can do on weekend.

Requirements Standing, bending and reaching, lifting, raking, digging and general yard maintenance duties. Yard gloves needed. Compliance to safety and health guidelines e.g. masks, gloves, social distancing when others are present. Must adhere to respectful workplace policies. Yard tools are available, but it is best if you bring your own.
