Outlook Enrichment is looking for experienced skiers and snowboarders to partner with blind and low-vision participants for an exciting day on the slopes at Mt. Crescent. As a volunteer, you’ll serve as a guide, skiing alongside, ahead of, or around your partner to help navigate obstacles, other skiers, and upcoming terrain. You’ll also provide verbal coaching and directional cues to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
If you can ski backward, that’s a bonus—especially when working with beginners. For snowboarders, please note that this will be our first time offering snowboarding to participants, so most of the snowboarders you’ll work with will be first-timers.
To help you and your partner prepare, we’ll start the day with a lesson led by our adaptive sports specialists. Afterward, volunteers will take the lead in coaching their partners on the hill. Don’t worry—our specialists will be available to assist with questions or additional guidance throughout the day.
Volunteers and their partners will receive a ski pass, rental equipment (if needed), and lunch for the day. If you prefer to bring your own gear, that’s fine too!
Transportation is not provided for volunteers. We need a maximum of 15 volunteers.
