Volunteer Opportunity:
Hospice Volunteer
I'm Interested!

Join us in spreading love and joy to those nearing end of life.

Peaceful Hearts Hospice is calling on compassionate souls to become volunteers and bring warmth to the lives of our patients. With flexible scheduling, you can make a significant impact by visiting patients when it works best for you. Your time is a priceless gift that can bring comfort, smiles, and a sense of connection to those nearing end of life. If you have a heart full of kindness and a desire to make a difference, please join our family of volunteers!

The primary goal of a Hospice Volunteer is to provide empathy and companionship to both the client and his/her loved ones during difficult times. The responsibility of the Hospice Volunteer is defined based on the client’s wishes and needs. Self-care is just as important for the primary caregiver as it is for the patient.

Below are the duties of the Hospice Volunteer:

  • Provide comfort and companionship to those nearing end of life.
  • Volunteers may provide an “extra set of eyes” to ensure the client’s safety, and to provide the primary caregiver with a respite from caregiving duties.
  • For those clients who do not have family available, the Hospice Volunteer may also provide additional companionship and social support, as well as provide No One Dies Alone (NODA) services.

Peaceful Hearts Hospice will provide appropriate orientation and training that is consistent with acceptable standards of hospice practice.

A criminal background check and training are required for Hospice Volunteers. Please reach out to Karen if interested at karen@peacefulheartshospice.com or 402-502-6492.

Peaceful Hearts Hospice is dedicated to ensuring each client lives life to his or her fullest potential. We believe care should be focused on living, quality of life, and leaving a legacy for the future.

Peaceful Hearts Hospice strives to get back to the original roots of the hospice philosophy by providing individualized care with holistic options. Each client is actively involved in determining his or her plan of care. We support the client’s choices by providing education on the expected terminal disease progression, as well as supporting the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and social aspects of each client and everyone involved in his/her life.
