Volunteer Opportunity:
Community Garden Support at St. Martin de Porres
I'm Interested!

Do you like plants? Do you like gardening? Are you interested in learning how to grow vegetables for the community? We are excited to have volunteers join us in helping our community gardens for our Senior Center and our Main Campus pantry on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 - 9:30am!

We do recommend coming in the morning due to summer heat, but we can offer flexibility to help with our gardens in North and Northwest Omaha and will provide the tools you need! If you have experience or knowledge on hydroponic gardens, let's work together to make more veggies!

Here are some of the gardening tasks you will able to help with:

  • Watering
  • Weeding
  • Tilling soil
  • Harvesting produce
  • Add organic pesticides (if needed)
  • Clean up organic material (leaves, weeds, etc.) into compost piles
  • Assist in turning compost piles
  • General maintenance
