By offering comprehensive support and essential resources, we aspire to assist our neighbors who are blind or dealing with vision loss to live independently, engage confidently in their communities, and continue to pursue their passions.
Outlook Enrichment’s Core Objectives:
- Skill Development: Educate and train individuals on how to live independently and use computers and smartphones with the help of adaptative technology.
- Community Engagement: Facilitate recreational, cultural, and social activities to keep BVI individuals engaged and active within the community.
- Support: Provide comprehensive support for the transition into vision loss, offering emotional health resources and guidance to enhance the well-being of individuals and their families.
- Community Education: Advocate for diversity and inclusion by educating the community on the abilities and contributions of those with differing visual abilities.
- In Nebraska, more than 35,000 people report blindness or severe difficulty seeing.
- It is predicted that the number of U.S. citizens who are blind or visually impaired is expected to double by 2050.
- Outlook Nebraska, our not-for-profit organization, is the largest employer of the blind and visually impaired in a seven-state region.
