What We Do
Hooves & Paws Rescue of the Heartland is proud to be one of the largest No-Kill Rescues and Licensed Shelters for horses, donkeys, mules, dogs and puppies in Iowa and Nebraska. We also offer a forever home to those who can't be placed due to behavior or medical issues as sanctuary animals.
We provide our rescued horses, donkeys, mules, dogs and puppies with a loving place to call home for a month, a year or perhaps a lifetime.

Since 2005 our gates have been open to deal with the worst cases of abuse and neglect, taking animals others won't.
Our most recent goal is to build a shelter for dogs and puppies.
