What We Do

The Council Bluffs Autism Support Group offers a support group for individuals, families, caregivers and educators of individuals on the autism spectrum in Council Bluffs and the surrounding area. We want to increase autism awareness, acceptance and understanding. This group is open to anyone in the Council Bluffs area who cares about a person with autism. All money raised is used to provide support, plan social events and provide grants to families and educators touched by autism. We provide monthly support group meetings where families can come and learn more about autism, find resources and meet others who understand. Free child care is available during our meetings for those who need it. **Because of Covid-19, we have not been able to have in-person meetings or events this past year, but we look forward to being able to meet again.

Interesting Info
  • Each year we give out several grants of up to $250 to families/educators. We had scheduled our 8th annual Autism Walk for May 9, 2020 but have had to cancel.
  • We've provided free social events for families including our Sky Zone event, Pumpkin Patch visit, and a swimming party at the YMCA.
  • Our goal is to provide more grants and free events for families, increase attendance at monthly support group meetings and at our annual Autism Walk.
