Immigrant Legal Center + Refugee Empowerment Center

When refugees arrive to Omaha, they only have $1,275 to cover rent, groceries and other basic essentials until they gain employment. This is simply not enough to cover all the essentials needed to get settled into a new home much less a new country. Through their resettlement program, the ILC + REC team aims to receive as many donated household items as possible, so families can utilize their minimal funds for rent and other essentials upon arriving.

By buying hygiene items through Immigrant Legal Center + Refugee Empowerment Center’s Holiday Drive, you are making a new refugee’s house a home, and also saving them critical dollars to help start their new lives in Omaha.

These items will be placed in homes by their volunteer home set up teams and ready for the family to use as soon as they arrive.
