Join us for Vocal Fry, a monthly spoken word open mic at The Shirley Tyree Theater! Vocal Fry is presented in collaboration with The Nebraska Poetry Society.
 

Every third Thursday of the month join in the listening, sharing, and loving of the spoken word!

This month's Vocal Fry will feature Angélica Perez who is a Mexican-American poet and teaching artist based out of Omaha, NE. Perez helps run the monthly Omaha poetry slam for Nebraska Writers Collective and leads poetry workshops wherever they’ll have her. A fellow of the Naturalist School, Perez can often be found up a tree or in the mud. There she explores the creativity of ecology through tree planting workshops, biological surveys, and plenty of poetry breaks. She is an avid collector of books, bruises, and bug bites.

Doors will open at 6pm for sign ups with performances starting at 7pm. No registration is required.
