The Union for Contemporary Art

On behalf of the Moondance Planning Committee, our Board of Directors, and the whole Union team, I am thrilled to -- finally! -- invite you to our second-ever gala, Moondance 2024. This event will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at The Union for Contemporary Art. Your support as a Moondance sponsor will allow us to uplift the artists and community members with whom we work, celebrate The Union's impact and the efforts of those who make it possible, and ensure that we can sustainably carry out our mission for years to come.  

The Union believes in the unique power of art to inspire social change. Over our thirteen-year history, we've supported dozens of local artists through fellowships, exhibitions, grants, and residencies. Hundreds of community members have developed their artistic practice in our Co-Op Studios, and thousands more have visited our gallery or attended a play in our theater. Through art, whether it's developing one's creative voice or listening deeply to the voice of another, we have shined a light on the problems facing our city, and through art, we build the collective consciousness necessary to solve them.  

Our first Moondance, back in 2019, was a fundraising gala unlike any other: a night of memorable and unexpected connections as the whole Union family of artists and supporters converged on 24th and Lake for food, drink, and dance. This year's event promises to be even bigger, as it will take place across our whole two-building campus in celebration of our inaugural Performing Arts season at the newly-constructed Shirley Tyree Theater.
