Gallery 1516 presents Robert Duncan’s visual exploration of architect Luis Barragán’s iconic spaces in Barragán: A Spiritual Master. Duncan, from Lincoln, NE, captures the profound beauty, elegant forms, and vibrant colors of Barragán’s masterpieces at two private Mexico City residences: Cuadra San Cristóbal and Casa Gilardi. His large-scale images invite viewers into Barragán’s contemplative environments, where nature and architecture seamlessly merge. Duncan’s work highlights the interplay of light, color, and form, conveying his own emotional responses and his appreciation for the fleeting moments within these solid structures.
