Do you like to get your hands in the dirt and care for flowers, vegetables and green grass? Part of Urban Acres' appeal is how homey our rescue is. That comes from the care we put into our landscape so visitors feel comfortable and at home. Also, when we cut the grass, the horses get a treat. Could this be the job for you?
Urban Acres sits on 1.3/4 acres on the corner of 49th and Sorensen Parkway. The majority of the property is dirt, but we do have grass and flowers growing alongside the driveway as well as Redman Avenue with a few weeds here and there. So, in addition to taking care of our animals, we also want the rescue to be a welcoming site for our visitors.
Duties include: Mowing and weed eating along fence lines, pulling, chopping and spraying noxious weeds, Planting flowers and shrubs, watering grass and plants, and trimming trees, which the storms have done a great job, so not much of that.
We had a vegetable garden but are not sure of its future.
