This opportunity has passed.

Volunteers are needed to partner with and mentor individuals/ families who are having difficulties and need direction to overcome obstacles in their lives. Coaches help these individuals identify and meet desired goals by guiding families in learning skills that will help them become more stable. This could entail such things as working on a budget, helping with a job search, and providing guidance to increase the individual/family’s protective factors. Once trained, Coaches are expected to: -1- Meet with a family/individual at least once a month -2- Maintain confidentiality -3- Commit to working with the family for 12 months -4- Work with the Collaborative Coordinator and Navigator to address challenges. -5- Notify the Collaborative Coordinator and Navigator when unable to fulfill the Coach responsibility because of vacations, illness or change of circumstances. Qualities for a Coach include compassion, understanding, patience, encouragement, a nonjudgmental mindset, culturally sensitive, and most importantly ability to develop positive relationships. Coaches will receive training prior to being matched with an individual/family and will have access to on-going support and continuing education opportunities. Our next Community Coach Training is set for January 2021 Virtual Training date to be determined No charge to attend Community Response in Sarpy County has organized this training for people who want to help others start down the path of financial stability and sustainability.
