Prospect Hill Cemetery and Arboretum
What We Do
Omaha's Pioneer Cemetery founded in 1858, Prospect Hill Cemetery is one of Nebraska's oldest cemeteries, a Nebraska State Historical Site, and a Nebraska Statewide Arboretum Site. We are the final resting place for many of Omaha's founding mothers and fathers. Our mission is to preserve and maintain the Cemetery, enhance its historic value, and provide information and education about the Cemetery’s history to the Omaha community and beyond.
Interesting Info
- Prospect Hill Cemetery has hundreds of visitors each year to walk our historic grounds and learn about early Omaha history.
- Although no longer accepting new interments, Prospect Hill Historic Cemetery has approximately 15,000 people buried there.
- PHC would like all of Omaha to know we are here and that we need their help to maintain this historic site. We rely on public donations to maintain our grounds.
