Boys Town

Boys Town

Melissa Steffes of Boys Town shares, "We know at Boys Town many of our kids come to us having suffered from abuse and neglect at home. That's why we are committed to providing programs and services to help ensure that all kids have the healthy and safe family environment they deserve. When you donate to Boys Town, you contribute to this environment and to the caring support provided to our youth."

Helping children and families heal and grow in body, mind and spirit is the mission that guides us every day. Whether it is caring for children in crisis, treating complex medical and mental health issues or helping families find the parenting resources they need, Boys Town is here to help those in the metro area and beyond.

"At Boys Town, we love helping youth get a second chance in life. We believe that our residential care treatment model is a testament to what Father Flanagan had in mind for these abandoned youths. The impact your tax-deductible gift makes on the lives of these forgotten children and the society they become a part of is crucial. Thank you in advance for your support," says Melissa.

Exchange Club of Omaha Foundation

Exchange Club of Omaha Foundation

Jim Torres of Exchange Club of Omaha Foundation shares, "Abuse and neglect hurts more than our children and families, it damages our entire community. The core of our community is strong families with healthy relationships. Prevention and healing activities not only help individuals and families, but also our community at large."

Exchange Club of Omaha supports the Exchange Club’s National Project for the prevention of child abuse. Through monetary grants to other non-profit organizations in our community, their grantees support vulnerable families for the prevention of child abuse. Since 1989, Exchange Club of Omaha Foundation has provided a total of $439,000 in grants to that cause.

"We can use more members to help us carry on our mission. A few hours a month volunteering, making connections, and supporting the Exchange Club’s mission pays many dividends in our community," says Jim.

Project Harmony

Gabby Hogan of Project Harmony shares, "By supporting Project Harmony, you help with our dedication to ending the cycle of child abuse and neglect through youth-oriented mental health services, early intervention, and training programs."

Project Harmony’s nationally recognized, collaborative, child-focused approach works to ensure children are not further victimized by the systems intended to protect them. They've brought multiple agencies working in these systems together into one place — where they can coordinate and communicate most effectively and tackle child abuse as a team. This powerful model means that Project Harmony is the community’s unified point of protection, healing, advocacy and hope for children who have experienced abuse, and their families.

"We need the community to support through donating time, talent, and treasure by getting involved with Project Harmony," says Gabby.

CASA for Douglas County

CASA for Douglas County plays a vital role in making the metro a better place by advocating for the well-being of children who have been impacted by the child welfare system due trauma related to abuse and neglect. CASA provides support to children, and strengthens families while raising awareness about abuse and neglect. Through the commitment of volunteer advocates, CASA seeks to ensure that every child has a safe and healthy home environment. Additionally, CASA understands the importance of keeping the child whole with cultural values at the forefront, and ensuring basic needs are met.

CASA for Douglas County is seeking "a diverse Volunteer Advocate base to amplify the voice of children who are impacted by the Child Welfare System, basic need donations to maintain the integrity of the child being served, and volunteers to support events and projects for children being served," says Jordan Fletcher of CASA for Douglas County

Nebraska Alliance of Child Advocacy Centers

Annesha Mitra of Nebraska Alliance of Child Advocacy Centers shares, "The increasing numbers of children needing support and care due to abuse and neglect has put a strain on the child welfare system. This, along with the shortage of trained professionals especially in mental health, highlights the urgency for action. Through public policy, we can devise effective systematic strategies to increase access to services for children and families affected by abuse. Donations play an important role in fulfilling these efforts and ensuring that every child in Nebraska receives the high-quality response they deserve."

The Nebraska Alliance of Child Advocacy Centers commits to supporting professionals in their efforts to respond to child abuse by providing specialized training opportunities, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and communication, promoting self-care and resiliency for professionals, and advocating for resources and funding to support a trauma-informed response and services.

"Raising awareness and supporting a collaborative professional response to child abuse are essential for making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. By adopting trauma-informed approaches, trained professionals can provide empathetic and effective interventions that promote healing and resilience among survivors and their families," says Annesha.
