Volunteer ABE (Adult Basic Education) Teacher or Tutor

LFA is seeking individuals interested in helping teach and tutor adults in our Adult Basic Education (ABE) group classes and as individual tutors. Our ABE program is designed to help adults strengthen their skills in reading and writing. These courses are for students who aren’t quite ready to begin GED preparation or have already completed high school and need skill reinforcement. Course levels offered include beginner and intermediate levels. Group classes are 1.5 hours each and tutoring sessions are a minimum of one 1 hour session each week.

Due to Covid, tutoring and group classes are currently provided both in-person and online. We ask that all volunteers and students requesting in person services receive the Covid vaccine.
