Virtual CEU Lunch & Learn: Grief Past, Present, & Forward: Making Sense of 2020 and Preparing for the New Year

The events and uncertainty of 2020 have caused increased incidents of traditional bereavement and countless incidents of Ambiguous Grief, a newer, less understood, and largely unsupported condition that is just beginning to take its toll on our community and region.

This presentation will help attendees better understand Grief pre-2020, including examples of loss, common grief reactions, and styles.

Specific attention will be given to how the global pandemic and awareness of systematic racism have evoked Ambiguous and Collective Grief. We will discuss Alan Wolfelt’s Companioning model, present ways to support ourselves and others while grieving, and have some self-care activities.

*This session meets the criteria of an approved continuing education program for mental health practice and social work in the state of Nebraska for 1.0 hour.

**Offered virtually via Zoom. Upon registration, you'll be provided with a secure link and instructions.
