Some call it stories. Others call it a blog. But here you will find nuggets of goodness to use and -- you guessed it -- SHARE!

Metro flooding: How you're responding to those in need

It's devastating to see the impact of flood waters on our Iowa and Nebraska communities. The destruction to land and homes along with the number of families displaced is overwhelming. As the waters just start to recede, we know the full weight of this disaster is yet to be evident.

We at SHARE Omaha will continue to spread the word about how our local nonprofits are responding and how you can help. You can see an updated list of flood relief needs here

But our communities really are #IowaStrong and #NebraskaStrong. And SHARE Omaha followers have responded to the call.

Traffic to SHAREomaha.org has more than doubled as caring individuals, families and businesses are looking for a way to help. Presented with the needs of our nonprofits, you're donating to flood funds and delivering flood relief items. You're jumping in to action and volunteering with Omaha Rapid Response, Open Door Mission, Food Bank for the Heartland, Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army

Your work does not go unnoticed. In fact, you caught John Knicely's attention. Last weekend, he joined Omaha Rapid Response at King's Lake to see the work of flood relief volunteers first hand, including dozens of SHARE Omaha volunteers.

Watch his Knicely Done segment below about Omaha Rapid Response and your help as volunteers.

Thank you for responding to the needs of our neighbors.
