Black History Month at NorthStar Foundation

For Black History Month, Paris Cross, Community Navigator at NorthStar Foundation, coordinated a series of activities for students in the after-school program.

NorthStar is serving as an additional resource to students in celebrating Black History Month by theming the weeks with activities that not only honor Black historical figures and traditions, but also highlight the importance of protecting the future of Black youth and promoting the mental health of the Black community.

The CUES Fund is holding a gala, The Gathering, on March 26, 2022. The event is a fundraiser to help underwrite the cost of education for children in east Omaha. CUES provides services beyond the classroom with support for families to ensure CUES students have a bright future. The brightest light within our community is our children and CUES Schools provide the building blocks by which our community grows!
  • 100% of CUES teachers are trained to support social and emotional learning because children living in poverty have a 30% chance of social-emotional incompetency
  • CUES serves areas where household incomes are 42% lower than Omaha’s median income

2’s Day: What $22 can do in the Omaha metro

Written by Katie Fourney    on February 21, 2022
Whether you call it 2’s Day or TWOSday - 2/22/22 - February 22, 2022, which also happens to be a Tuesday, is such an anomaly it has captured pop culture’s imagination. Urban Dictionary predicts that the “world will annihilate itself with the antimatter version of the Earth and start the Universe again, restarting on 2’s day again, and again, and again.” Instead, we at SHARE Omaha propose that we honor this oddity of a palindrome date with a day of good. We celebrate Pi Day (March 14 or 3.14) with pie; why not celebrate 2’s Day with a $22 gift?

With just a few clicks here at SHAREomaha.org, you can give $22 to the nonprofits that matter to you most. This is just a few of the things $22 can do to strengthen our Omaha/Council Bluffs metro:

What is a Circle Moment?

A Circle Moment is when vital community pieces come together, align perfectly, and create a moment of magic - for good. We at SHARE Omaha are blessed to witness these special instances every day. Whether its givers discovering a cause to support wholeheartedly, volunteers raising their hands to help when a crisis or challenge arises around them, or nonprofit organizations giving their all to strengthen our community, these are the stories that fuel progress for others and personal purpose.
