Students are taught everything from sanitation and safety, cutting techniques and tools, use of various appliances, the why's and wherefore's of reading and following recipes and then creating their lunches for a sit down meal with the other campers. Each day is a themed day. For instance on Pasta Day, they will make their own pasta, create a simple sauce, set the table and eat as group and cleaning up after themselves up in the kitchen. In addition to culinary skills, instruction includes table setting, portioning, hospitality and more. Camp includes a camp apron, student compiled cookbook, and certificate of completion. Meals included are lunch and a morning snack. This is a week long program, running from July 22-26, from 9AM to Noon daily.
