Save Our Streams

Save Our Streams (SOS) is a fun way to test water quality in small streams by collecting chemical data and identifying underwater insects, called macroinvertebrates. The Izaak Walton League is partnering with Pottawattamie County Conservation and Golden Hills Resource Conservation and Development to provide a workshop for those who want to become a certified SOS Monitor.
Training will consist of a morning session, hosted indoors at Olsen Lodge in Botna Bend Park, followed by an afternoon session practicing our monitoring techniques at a nearby stream.
Classes fill up quickly, so register now! For inquiries, contact IWLA Save Our Streams Coordinator Zach Moss at zmoss@iwla.org .
