Volunteer Opportunity:

Safe Driver

Every time you get behind the wheel, you have the opportunity to voluntarily practice safe driving behaviors. These include:

1. Observing the speed limit - and even adjusting to go slower than the posted limit when you see kids at play, pedestrians, and cyclists.
2. Stop! Take 3 To See at all Stop Signs - Look left, look right, look left again to make sure all is clear before proceeding.
3. Buckle up every one, every trip
4. Phone Down, Eyes Up - toss the phone in the trunk if you need to in order to focus on the one task you have, driving.
5. It's Not a Race! Create Space® - leave 4 seconds between you and the vehicle in front of you. This leaves time to react to the behavior of others on and along roadways.

These videos give examples of how to engage in these behaviors.
