Event:
The Portable Malcolm X Reader Group
Please join us for a ten-week series of biweekly book discussions utilizing The Portable Malcolm X Reader, and facilitated by A’Jamal Byndon, MORE board chair. This book group will offer a fresh approach to reducing the historical and current raw racism practiced in public and private institutions. We will ask participants to read the book in sequence, and log on to Zoom or Facebook Live to engage in robust discussions about the topics presented. The first session is Mon Aug 22 from 6:00-8:00pm.
Leading questions for the readers:
1. What were significant points gleaned from the reading?
2. How can we use insights from the readings to advocate for and alter current conditions for oppressed folks?
3. Is it possible to increase the scope of Malcolm X’s teachings within our communities or society under current conditions?
For more info, contact A'Jamal at Moreinfo@moreomaha.org.
