What We Do

Our mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we continue to make an impact in our fight against breast cancer. Since 1994, we have funded over $9 million throughout Nebraska and South Dakota to provide innovative breast health help throughout the continuum of care of education, screening and treatment support. Twenty-five percent of Komen Great Plains net proceeds are dedicated to global breast cancer research.

Interesting Info

One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her life. One in 883 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in his life.
Our goal is to reduce breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S by 2026.
Komen Great Plains has funded $9 million in breast cancer community programs and contributed $3 million to breast cancer research over the past 25 years.
