What We Do
The Nebraska Interscholastic Cycling League works with underserved communities and populations, partnering with organizations such as NorthStar and PACE (Police Athletics for Community Engagement) to revitalize trails in North and South Omaha making them accessible for youth running and mountain biking programs. By giving more kids access to mountain biking, we are providing foundational life lessons such as self-awareness, discipline, success, failure, empathy, humility and sportsmanship.
We believe every middle or high school student should be able to participate in our development programs and feel welcomed, respected and supportedWe are committed to fair treatment, equal access, opportunity, advancement and elimination of barriers to encourage participation. Using the bike as a tool, we build strong minds, bodies, character and communities through cycling.
The league is run by a group of dedicated and passionate people who believe in the positive impact cycling can make on high school and middle school students across the state of Nebraska. Regardless of ability level or background, the league is committed to providing a positive outdoor experience for all student-athletes in accordance with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association's five core principles: FUN, INCLUSIVITY, EQUITY, RESPECT and COMMUNITY.
