What We Do

The National Alliance on Mental Illness Southwest Iowa (NAMI SWIA) provides free educational classes for caregivers and family members, establishes local peer to peer and family to family support groups, and works to increase community awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental illness. NAMI SWIA is made up of local volunteers that are equipped to serve in their communities. We serve nine counties in Southwest Iowa, including; Fremont, Page, Mills, Montgomery, Pottawattamie, Harrison, Cass, Monona and Shelby. At the national level, NAMI is a grassroots movement in 44 states and growing.
