What We Do

The‌ ‌Metro‌ ‌Omaha‌ ‌Tobacco‌ ‌Action‌ ‌Coalition‌ (MOTAC) ‌is‌ ‌‌comprised‌ ‌of‌ ‌individuals,‌ ‌organizations‌ ‌and‌ ‌agencies‌ ‌formed‌ ‌‌to‌ ‌strengthen‌ ‌tobacco‌ ‌prevention‌ ‌and‌ ‌control‌ ‌efforts‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Omaha‌ ‌metro‌ ‌area.‌ ‌Since‌ ‌1992,‌ ‌MOTAC‌ ‌has‌ ‌ led‌ ‌Douglas‌ ‌County‌ ‌in‌ ‌addressing‌ ‌tobacco‌ ‌and‌ ‌nicotine‌ ‌related‌ ‌issues‌ ‌through‌ ‌public‌ ‌ policy,‌ ‌education‌ ‌and‌ ‌community‌ ‌action.‌

We advocate for smoke-free indoor spaces in Douglas County and at the state level.
In 2017, 9.4% of youth reported using electronic cigarettes.
Our goal is to create a nicotine free generation.
