What We Do
The Harrison County Humane Society of Iowa serves to protect stray and unwanted dogs and cats, helping them find loving forever homes. We are home to 10 – 30 homeless pets on any given day and we are the only pet shelter in the entire county.
In 2019, we helped 140 animals find their forever homes and 52 animals were reclaimed.
Our TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program helped spay/neuter 90 cats in 2019.
A Bissell grant we received, helped spay/neuter/vaccinate 170 animals of Harrison County residents.
