What We Do

The Fricke Episcopal Food Ministry is a joint effort of seven Omaha-area Episcopal churches that serves others in the name of the Lord by providing food to families and individuals in need. Nonprofit, charitable organizations may apply for Food Security Grants. All grants must be used to supply only food. We offer our supporters an opportunity for their dollars to help feed the needy in different and innovative ways. We intentionally focus on smaller, local nonprofits that might not have large corporate or foundation donors. Our partner organizations serve school children, at-risk youth, and families by providing grocery gift cards, food pantries, and take-out and pay-what-you-can meals.

Interesting Info

For our 2020 Annual Report, we calculated that our partners were able to provide approximately 18,815 meals!
Feeding America projected that 1 in 6 people (50.4 million) in the U.S. could be food insecure in 2020 in the wake of the pandemic—up from 1 in 9 people.
We hope to build a reputation in local hunger-relief circles so that we generate excitement with every new program we award a Food Security Grant.
