Nebraska School Mental Health Conference

The Nebraska School Mental Health Initiative was launched to promote strong mental health services in our schools; to provide resources and training to increase access; and to promote early intervention and wrap around services for youth and families.

Members of the steering committee work together to improve our schools’ social and emotional climate by providing a networking platform for community members to collaborate and create change.

The Nebraska School Mental Health Initiative was originated by the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN), which concluded their three-year focus in 2017 with the School Mental Health Summit. The initiative is being led by steering committee partners with Educational Service Unit #3 and The Kim Foundation through at least 2021.

The 2021 Nebraska School Mental Health Conference is $50 per person with 7.75 CEUs offered.

We are excited to announce an additional opportunity for those interested or in need of ethics CEUs. Leslie Kuhnel, DBe, MPA, HEC-C will be conducting a 1.25 hour ethics session as a follow up to her .75 ethics session in the last breakout session of the conference. This additional session will be offered from 1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, June 3rd at no additional charge.

If you would like any information on student rates or have any questions please contact Jill Haupts at jhaupts@thekimfoundation.org.

COVID-19 UPDATE: After thoughtful consideration the Nebraska School Mental Health Conference Steering Committee has determined that due to the ongoing concern for the health & safety of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be offering the conference virtually once again this year.

You will still have the opportunity to hear from dynamic keynote speakers and more than 50 local experts, so please join us! More details will be coming soon. We appreciate your patience through this process and we are here to answer any questions you may have regarding this decision. Thank you!
