Karaoke Night

“i borrow my comparisons from clay, being clay myself,” featuring work by Sarah Hummel Jones and Erik Daniel White, will mark the end of a heavy year and look forward to better days with a night of karaoke Friday, December 13th at Amplify's Generator Space (1804 Vinton St). See the exhibition one last time and sing out 2019 with a night that puts the ‘art’ back in cathartic.

About the exhibition:

“i borrow my comparisons from clay, being clay myself,” forefonts clay as an exploratory medium through which conventional definitions of commodity are simultaneously reinforced and reshaped. By manipulating clay’s material potential to assume varying degrees of malleability, divisibility, and durability, both artists acknowledge its commodifiable utility, while at the same time, embracing processes and means of exchange that stride deliberately toward a post-commodity future in which the currency of information supplants the value of objects.

Free and open to the public. This exhibition is presented with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
