Volunteer Descriptions Boutique Advocates – Our boutique provides new and gently used maternity and baby items for parenting families. Volunteer opportunities include: checking-in clients, checking faxes, assist clients shopping, checking out clients, restocking clothing, diapers, etc., sorting donations, preparing donations for the floor and data entry. **PLEASE NOTE DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC OUR NORMAL BOUTIQUE PROCESS IS CURRENTLY REVISED* Volunteers needed during open boutique hours on: Tuesdays 5-7:30 pm and Thursdays 11-2 pm. Boutique shopping is by appointment only. Peer Advocates – Our Learning and Development Program provides classes and groups in the areas of parenting, life skills, healing and empowerment and child development. Volunteers can assist as Class Facilitators or Client Support. Class Facilitators responsibilities include: Facilitating class instruction, leading group discussion and preparing/ filing class materials. Client Support responsibilities include: Client check-in, Education Room set up/ clean up and assisting class attendees by seating clients and snuggling babies. All Peer Advocate volunteers must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be accepting and open-minded. **PLEASE NOTE DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC CLASSES ARE BEING HELD VIA ZOOM ONLY.** Resource Advocates – Volunteers meet with clients at the completion of their initial appointment to provide clients with immediate resource referrals as well as orient clients to EPS programs. Resource volunteers support the nurse and management staff at all three centers completing the client data entry into our client database. Volunteers needed during open testing hours at any of our three locations Nurse Advocates - The dedicated nursing staff at EPS, along with our Medical Director, testing services volunteers, and professional counselors work to ensure that women facing an unplanned pregnancy receive the best medical, nursing, psychosocial and spiritual care possible. We strive to educate women about their pregnancies and help create options for them. Nurse advocates assist staff nurses in providing testing/screening services to clients who come to EPS. Nurse advocates also assist nurses with medical follow-ups, results reporting, and data entry. Volunteer Receptionist Advocates (Bellevue and Benson) – If you are looking for multiple client interactions, this role is for you! As our clients walk through our doors for testing or ultrasound appointments and our Beginning Essentials Classes, you will be the first person to greet them with a friendly smile. Common responsibilities include scheduling appointments (in person or over the phone), assisting clients through the check-in process, uploading documents to client files, stocking supplies for exam rooms, accepting and logging donations, and answering phone calls. Connections Advocates – Volunteers meet one-on-one with clients on a weekly/bi-weekly basis to provide case management services, identify a path towards self-sufficiency and provide support to meet their goals. Volunteers needed on afternoons and evenings. (In Development phase) Mentors – Volunteers that are mothers are paired with clients and meet one-on-one to provide emotional support and encouragement through a positive friendship relationship for a minimum of a year.
