Prairie STEM's Girls in STEAM event is a 10-week program (1 event/week) where we engage, enrich and empower girls to see themselves as someone who could excel in STEM education (and future careers) in a safe and positive environment.

This past year our program (2019-2020) consisted of over 200 girls from the Omaha Metro area who went on to compete in the 2020 Nebraska Robotics Expo! This resulted in a 400% increase of girl competitors. Our girls took home 1st in Programming for Elementary, 1st and 2nd in Documentation for Elementary and 1st in Presentation for High School. We are very proud of each and every girl. For many this was their first experience with robotics and the last event they attended before schools shut down.

This year due to COVID-19 concerns the program might be virtual or combination of virtual and in person. We are monitoring the situation and will make the determination once it gets closer.
