Feline Welfare Specialists' are a vital part of providing the cats with the best care while they are in our shelter. Creating and maintaining a positive and clean environment for the cats reduces their stress and helps cut down on disease outbreaks. Perform daily sanitation of cat adopt kennels according to the Nebraska Humane Society’s Standard Operating Procedures. General cleaning including, but not limited to laundry, and dishes Provide superior care for cats, with a focus on basic necessities such as food, water, and living conditions Provide daily enrichment for cats who are available for adoption. Humane and safe animal handling according the Nebraska Humane Society’s Standard Operating Procedures. While handling animals, must report any behavior or medical observations that could compromise the welfare of the animal. Interact with other volunteers, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner This is a very active volunteer assignment and you can expect to be on your feet for up to 2 hours. It is an individual opportunity No skills required but previous experience with animals is a plus Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
