Between the Lines with Elaine Weiss

For the eighth consecutive year, the Omaha Public Library Foundation will celebrate literacy and raise dollars for Omaha Public Library through its noted event, Between the Lines.

On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the Omaha Public Library Foundation will welcome author and journalist Elaine Weiss, whose 2018 book, The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote, offers an engaging and historic narrative of the days leading up to the passage of the 19th Amendment. Granting women the right to vote proved to be a difficult effort, to say the least. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the amendment’s ratification.

Elaine Weiss is an award-winning journalist and writer. Her magazine feature writing has been recognized with prizes from the Society of Professional Journalists, and her by-line has appeared in The Atlantic, Harper’s, New York Times, Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, as well as reports and documentaries for National Public Radio and Voice of America.
